India, Jan. 28 -- Government Offices Holiday in Maharashtra on 29 January 2026: Maharashtra is in a state of mourning because Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash that occurred on January 28 2026. The state government decided to suspend all operations on January 29 & 30 because of the tragic event that took place.
The government announced three days of public mourning from January 28 to January 30, which included flying flags at half-mast and stopping all official functions.
