India, Feb. 19 -- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the approval of Rs 1,463.95 crore for the construction of a six lane, access controlled greenfield spur in Punjab.
In a post on X, Gadkari said the proposed corridor will link the Ambala Chandigarh section of NH 205A with the Zirakpur Bypass. He clarified that while the project will support traffic movement across the tricity region, it is a separate infrastructure initiative and not the Tricity Ring Road itself.
The new spur is expected to divert through traffic away from key junctions in Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula, reducing congestion that frequently spills over into Punjab's urban stretches. Officials said the project will ease pressure on ...
