India, Jan. 12 -- Singer and actor Prashant Tamang passed away at the age of 43 on January 11, 2026, reportedly due to cardiac arrest. His sudden death shocked fans and the music industry. Prashant first gained fame as the winner ofIndian Idol Season 3 and later built a successful career in acting, including a notable appearance in Paatal Lok Season 2.

Beyond entertainment, Prashant also served with the Kolkata Police, contributing to public safety. He is survived by his wife, Geeta Thapa aka Martha Aley, and their daughter, Ariah.
