Katra, July 21 -- A landslide struck the Vaishno Devi Yatra route near Banganga on Sunday, injuring at least four pilgrims and triggering panic among devotees. The incident occurred when debris came crashing down on a shed area, trapping several people underneath.
Swift action by the Jammu and Kashmir Police led to the rescue of four individuals, who were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is currently stated to be stable.
Rescue operations are still underway, with men and machinery working continuously at the site to clear the debris and ensure no one else remains trapped. As a precautionary measure, the traditional Yatra route has been temporarily suspended.
