India, Dec. 30 -- NEW DELHI, December 30 - Delhi has been placed under a red alert as dense fog severely reduces visibility, disrupting road and air travel across the national capital. Due to the dangerous weather, major aircraft cancellations and diversions have been confirmed by the travel advice issued by the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for dense to very dense fog across Delhi. Visual evidence shows thick fog enveloping roads, residential areas like Saket, and highways, drastically reducing visibility for commuters. Over the next few days, the IMD predicts that these conditions will probably continue at night and in the early morning.
