Chandigarh, May 22 -- There was a high-alert situation at the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday when there was a threat of a bomb, leading to a quick evacuation of courts and temporary halt to judicial proceedings. There was a wave of panic in the legal and administrative corridors, especially following a similar threat received by the office of the Deputy Commissioner at Ludhiana last month.
The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) promptly put out an official notice to members, appealing to them to be cautious within the court complex. The notice, endorsed by Gagandeep Jammu, Honorary Secretary, HCBA, directed all members to leave the courtrooms forthwith as a precautionary measure.
