India, Dec. 12 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police on Wednesday submitted a detailed chargesheet before the court in connection with the death of iconic Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, framing serious charges including murder, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence against multiple accused.
Addressing the media, Special DGP M.P. Gupta, who is heading the SIT, said that murder charges under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) have been filed against four accused - Zubeen Garg's manager Siddhartha Sarma, festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, bandmate Sekhar Jyoti Goswami and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta.
