India, Jan. 8 -- An earthquake of 3.9 magnitudes shook Assam's Udalguri district Thursday night, barely four days after an earthquake with a 5.1 magnitude hit the Morigaon region. Earthquake waves were also felt in other parts of Assam which include the capital city, Guwahati though there have been no reports of deaths and damages.

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was experienced in Udalguri district of Assam just about 7:30 pm on Thursday. The focus of the earthquake was found to be shallow, only 10 km beneath the surface. Within the region of Assam itself, people experienced tremors in Guwahati as well. Even though the earth-shaking experience was unnerving enough, there were no injuries or damages.
