NEW DELHI, Feb. 12 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, raised concerns regarding allegations that foreign entities, particularly those linked to billionaire George Soros' network, played a role in influencing a key decision made by Assam Congress in 2014.
While addressing the media about reports connecting Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and his British wife, Elizabeth Colbourn, to both the Pakistani government and George Soros' Open Society, Sarma stated, "It is only a matter of time before the extent of foreign influence, spearheaded by George Soros' network, in shaping a crucial decision of the Assam Congress in 2014 comes to light. The truth will eventually be revealed."
