India, Jan. 28 -- Pune schools will remain closed tomorrow, January 29, as the Maharashtra government observes official mourning following the tragic death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash near Baramati.
The state government announced a three-day mourning period from January 28 to January 30 as a mark of respect for Pawar's long public service. As part of this, educational institutions in Pune - including government, private, and aided schools - will stay shut until January 30.
According to the official government notification, all educational institutions in Maharashtra - including Pune - are closed until January 30, 2026. The closure covers schools, colleges, and universities.
