Srinagar, Aug. 7 -- The anti-terror operation in the dense forests of Akhal area in south Kashmir's Kulgam district entered its seventh consecutive day on Thursday, with security forces intensifying efforts to flush out hiding terrorists. The prolonged encounter has already resulted in the killing of two terrorists, while multiple soldiers have sustained injuries since the operation began.

According to official sources, intermittent exchange of fire continued throughout the night. Fresh firing resumed late Wednesday and carried into Thursday morning. During the latest gunfight, three more Army personnel were injured and have been shifted to a military hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
