India, Aug. 6 -- A 42-year-old woman from Assam's Tezpur succumbed to severe burn injuries on Wednesday, August 5 morning after her husband allegedly set her ablaze following a domestic dispute. The incident occurred late on Tuesday night at Pahumara Chuburi in Sonitpur district.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Meghali Saikia, was admitted to a local government hospital with over 80% burn injuries but died during treatment on Wednesday morning. Police sources have revealed that she was brought to the hospital with severe burns. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries this morning.
