Richmond Hill, Aug. 21 -- New York Assemblyman David I. Weprin, Senator John C. Liu, many other Assembly and Council members, District Leaders Dr. Neeta Jain & Gurdip Singh Narula, Hersh Parekh from Gov Cuomo's office, and community members from across Queens gathered at the Sikh Cultural Society gurdwara here over a week ago to celebrate the signing of the historic Religious Garb Bill by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, which prohibits employment discrimination based on religious attire, clothing, or facial hair. The new law takes effect on October 9th, 2019.
