SHIMLA, Jan. 19 -- DEEN Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAYNULM) is proving effective for socio-economic upliftment of the urban poor households of the state.

The scheme aims at improving the social, economic and institutional capacity of the urban poor households. Under this scheme, these families are imparted training along with providing financial assistance for gainful selfemployment, so that they could live a respectable life.

Under the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, 2,293 self-help groups have been constituted for urban poor households in the state and1.780 of these groups have been provided with revolving fund. As many as 103 Area-Level Federations have also been constituted and 74 of them have been provided...
