NEW DELHI, March 13 -- THE fine start of the series against Australia was lost in the end as India was beaten convincingly by the the visitors in the final match, losing 2-3 of the 5 match series in New Delhi on Wednesday here.

Interestingly no one batted for a big partnership, only opener Rohit Sharma hit a half century among the pack.

Earlier, India staged a decent comeback to restrict Australia to 272 for nine after Usman Khawaja continued with his imperious form by hitting his second hundred of the series.

Khawaja, who had not scored a century before arriving to India for this series, hit an exact 100 off 106 balls and shared two big partnerships at the top of the order.
