ISLAMABAD, March 20 -- The government has decided to reimburse Rs2.5 billion to the gas consumers who had paid inflated bills.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the decision to return the amount of inflated gas bill collected from the consumers by the gas utilities was taken by the federal cabinet.

The Minister said that at least 3.2 million gas consumers were sent inflated bills by the two gas utilities. He added that the government was taking measures to compensate the victims of overbilling.
