Nigeria, Jan. 26 -- The game was called for around 14 minutes after Senegalese players left the field in protest against a late penalty given to Morocco. Though Senegal finally came back to complete the match and triumphed, the incident drew severe criticism from FIFA and CAF President Gianni Infantino, who stated the images were revolting.



The News Chronicle understands CAF is under pressure to fast resolve the situation among conflicting claims from both parties. Morocco has requested the football body to deprive Senegal of the title since it asserts the walkout was a withdrawal under CAF rules that cancelled the remainder of the game.
