Cannes, June 20 -- YouTube will soon roll out Google's latest AI-powered video generation model, Veo 3, to enhance video creation on its Shorts platform, CEO Neal Mohan announced at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025. The integration aims to elevate the quality and realism of AI-generated content for creators.

In an official blog post, Mohan revealed that YouTube creators will soon be able to generate AI-driven video clips and dynamic backgrounds using Veo 3, which was introduced at Google I/O 2025. The new model, developed by Google DeepMind, offers cinematic-quality rendering with native audio generation-including ambient sounds, background noise, and dialogues-enabling more immersive content.
