SRINAGAR, Jan. 29 -- After an extended dry spell, several parts of Jammu and Kashmir experienced light snowfall on Wednesday, particularly in the higher reaches of the Valley, leading to a drop in temperatures.

Reports indicate that snowfall was recorded in Pir Panjal areas, Zojila, Razdan Pass, Sinthan Top, Sadhna Top, and other locations. The fresh snowfall occurred due to a weak Western Disturbance that began affecting the region this afternoon.

Strong winds were also reported in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted light snow and rain at scattered locations starting today.
