Srinagar, July 7 -- Two people lost their lives and three others were injured in a tragic road accident late last night in the Galander Pampore area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

According to a police official, a black Scorpio vehicle (registration number JK02DQ-2585) driven by Jhonty, son of Tarseem Lal from Mershiwala, Akhnoor, Jammu, crashed while carrying four other passengers.

All occupants sustained injuries in the mishap. However, the driver, Jhonty, and one co-passenger, Sono Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar from Dabsora, Jammu, later succumbed to their injuries.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Police have registered a case under relevant legal sections, and further proceedings are underway.
