Srinagar, May 27 -- The tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir has faced a steep decline following the terror incident in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists. In response, the Tourism Department, along with private players from the hospitality and travel sector, is organising a 'FAM Tour', a four-day campaign designed to rebuild visitor confidence and protect local livelihoods. Beginning Tuesday, the programme will bring national tour operators, media professionals, and hotel owners to Jammu and Kashmir. They, after arriving at the Srinagar Airport, will straight drive towards Pahalgam on May 27, where they will interact with the hoteliers, ponywalas, locals and others to assess the ground situ...
