SRINAGAR, June 3 -- The annual Urs of revered Sufi saint Mir Syed Ali Hamadani, popularly known as Shah-e-Hamadan, was observed with deep religious fervour across Kashmir valley today.

Thousands of devotees thronged the historic Khanqah-e-Moala shrine, nestled on the banks of River Jhelum in Srinagar's old city, offering prayers and supplications throughout the day. Despite intermittent rain, the rush of devotees remained undeterred. Women in large numbers too participated in congregational prayers on the occasion. The shrine and its surroundings wore a festive look, with stalls by vendors and government departments set up for the visitors' convenience.
