Srinagar, July 8 -- Heavy rain and a sudden hailstorm accompanied by strong winds hit several parts of Srinagar on Monday afternoon.

On one side, rains brought relief from the sweltering heat they also caused damage to vehicles and electric infrastructure.

Eyewitnesses reported that a large tree between Batwara and Pandrethan fell on an e-rickshaw, damaging the vehicle and blocking the road.

Authorities acted swiftly, deploying teams and machinery to restore road connectivity and power supply in the affected areas.
