Srinagar, June 11 -- The Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a heatwave alert for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting intense heat over the next three days.
A MeT official said the weather will remain generally hot and dry across the Union Territory until June 13, with severe heatwave conditions expected at scattered locations.
From June 14 to 17, there's a likelihood of brief spells of light rain and thundershowers at isolated to scattered places, possibly accompanied by gusty winds and thunder.
The official added that hot and dry weather is expected to return between June 18 and 20.
Meanwhile, the department has urged the public to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities between 12 noon and 4 pm when the heat is most intense....
