Kulgam, July 9 -- Under fire from parents and civil society, Education Minister Sakina Masood Itoo on Tuesday assured that the decision is not final and remains open to revision.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Kulgam, the minister emphasized that the reopening of schools from today is aimed at restoring the disrupted academic calendar and helping students catch up on their syllabus before the crucial November session.
"We have received several calls and concerns from parents and students regarding the new school schedule," she said. "I want to clarify that the timings are not fixed permanently. If any serious inconvenience arises, we will make necessary changes."
