SRINAGAR, May 13 -- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Monday assured compensation and possible job appointments for the families affected by Pakistan shelling in Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana said the National Conference (NC) welcomes the decision of both India and Pakistan to engage in dialogue to resolve ongoing issues.
"Although a ceasefire is in place, Poonch has suffered heavy losses due to shelling. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah personally visited the affected families. The NC firmly believes that talks are the only way forward, and we appreciate both nations for agreeing to sit together," Rana said.
