SRINAGAR, March 15 -- The Forest Department in collaboration with J&K Forest Research Institute today celebrated Chinar Day, an annual event observed today with a series of activities held across the valley with the aim to raise awareness about the importance of the iconic Chinar tree and promote environmental conservation.

Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir Irfan Rasool Wani graced the main event held at Chinar Bagh Dal Gate, Srinagar as the chief guest. The day commenced with a ceremonial Chinar sapling plantation drive.
