Srinagar, June 12 -- A plane has crashed in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The crash site is reported to be a residential locality, though further details are still emerging. Authorities have sealed off all roads leading to the area.
Initial reports suggest that the aircraft was an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en route to London. The aircraft, designed to carry around 300 passengers, was reportedly carrying 133 people at the time of the incident. Given the long-haul destination, it was loaded with fuel, adding to the severity of the crash.
Sources indicate that the aircraft may have hit the airport's periphery wall before going down. The exact cause of the crash and the status of the passengers remain unclear.
