Srinagar, March 2 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday said that there is no need for a shadow cabinet as the elected government in Jammu and Kashmir will fulfill the promises made to the people.

Speaking to reporters after offering condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Chief Minister said that the departments have been directed to ensure better facilities for the people in Ramadan.

Omar visited the residence of Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi in Hyderpora, who passed away this week. Dr Sibtain was the brother of NC leader Hasnain Masoodi and the father-in-law of Mirwaiz Moulvi Umar Farooq.
