Srinagar, June 24 -- Kashmir continued to reel under an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring well above normal across the Valley. The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast hot and humid weather to persist through June 24, with a possible shift to stormy and rainy conditions from June 25 onwards.
Srinagar recorded a high of 34.6degC - 4.8degC above normal - making it one of the hottest days this season. Qazigund (33.4degC), Kupwara (33.5degC), Kokernag (32.6degC), and Gulmarg (23degC) all reported above-normal temperatures. Pahalgam remained cooler at 24degC.
Meanwhile, parts of Jammu division saw below-normal temperatures due to recent rainfall. Jammu city recorded 36.6degC, which is 4.2degC below normal.
