Srinagar, April 11 -- The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains open for two-way traffic for passenger vehicles, while heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) are allowed only from Jammu towards Srinagar. However, the Mughal Road and several other key routes remain closed due to weather-related issues.
According to Traffic Police officials, commuters on the highway are urged to maintain lane discipline and avoid overtaking to prevent congestion. Travelers are also advised to move during daylight hours and avoid unnecessary halts, particularly between Ramban and Banihal.
The highway is being closely monitored at Mehad, Cafeteria Morh, and Ramban due to the risk of landslides and shooting stones.
