New Delhi, July 23 -- India has recorded its sharpest jump on the Henley Passport Index, climbing eight spots to rank 77th in 2025. Indian passport holders now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access in 59 countries, according to the Index released on July 22.
Though only two new destinations were added to India's visa-free list, experts view the leap as a sign of India's expanding diplomatic outreach and improved global mobility.
The Henley Passport Index, based on IATA data, ranks 199 countries by the number of destinations accessible without a prior visa. Singapore leads the 2025 list with access to 193 countries.
