India, Jan. 25 -- The India Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather alert for Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, warning of heavy snowfall, strong winds and deteriorating weather conditions due to an active Western Disturbance affecting the region.

According to the IMD, the fresh weather system is expected to significantly impact both the Kashmir Valley and parts of the Jammu region, particularly higher reaches and hilly areas, leading to reduced visibility, sharp fall in temperatures and possible disruption of road connectivity.
