New Delhi, March 7 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the appointment of Sujit Kumar, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the AGMUT cadre from the 2007 batch, as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

According to an office memorandum issued today, the appointment is on a deputation basis for a period of five years, effective from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Kumar will be filling an existing vacancy within the CRPF.

The memorandum, signed by Sanjeev Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of India, requests the immediate release of Sujit Kumar to enable him to take up his new assignmentattheCentre.
