SRINAGAR, Jan. 31 -- The higher reaches of Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall on Friday, while rain lashed the plains, leading to a dip in temperatures across the region.
Light snowfall was reported from the higher reaches of Gurez Valley, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Sinthan Top, Pir Ki Gali, and other areas. Independent weather forecaster Aadil Maqbool stated that Gurez recorded 4 inches of snowfall by evening, while Sonamarg received 8 inches. Sinthan Top and Pir Ki Gali accumulated around 3 inches of snow. Light snowfall was also reported from DK Marg, Noorabad Kulgam, and Baltal Pahalgam. Snowfall continued in Gulmarg and surrounding areas when the last reports came in.
