Chandigarh, April 10 -- Early summer has gripped Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, with temperatures soaring higher than last year in the first week of April. Chandigarh, in particular, has recorded early heat, surpassing last year's temperatures by mid-April.
According to Surendra Pal, Director of the Chandigarh Meteorological Center, "Last year, this kind of heat was felt after April 15, but this year, the mercury has already risen in early April." He added that while the weather may cool temporarily, heatwaves are expected to hit the region soon. Though a Western Disturbance is expected, it won't provide much relief from the heat.
