India, Feb. 9 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the government remains committed to providing electricity to every household in Jammu and Kashmir, including newly established and remote habitations.
Replying to a question in the Legislative Assembly from MLA Satish Kumar Sharma of Billawar on un-electrified habitations in his constituency, Abdullah said that while no village in the UT is entirely without power, some smaller habitations or morhas still lack connections.
"The population is growing, villages are expanding, and new houses are coming up. Electrifying all of them is a continuous process that requires preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)," he said.
