Rajouri, April 10 -- The reopening of the vital Mughal Road has been delayed due to fresh landslides at multiple locations in Poonch district. Authorities now expect traffic movement to resume within the next 24 to 48 hours, weather permitting.
The road, which was scheduled to reopen today as per the target set by the Poonch district administration, saw renewed disruption just as snow clearance was completed up to Pir Ki Gali by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) two days ago.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surankote, Farooq Khan, said, "Work was progressing as planned and the road was expected to reopen on April 10, but fresh landslides have caused an unavoidable delay."
