BANDIPORA, Aug. 13 -- In a decisive move to safeguard public health, the Food Safety Department, Bandipora, carried out extensive enforcement drives today in Block Bandipora and Block Hajin to ensure strict compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), 2006.
During the inspections, officials checked a range of food establishments, including eateries, snack vendors, and biryani stalls, for hygiene, storage, and quality standards. Nearly 55 kg of unhygienic and substandard food items-including biryani, snacks, and other prepared foods-were destroyed on the spot for violating safety norms.
In total, 47 inspections were conducted, resulting in two cases being forwarded to the Adjudicating Officer, Bandipora. A fine of Rs.19,000 ...
