NEW DELHI, May 22 -- The Election Commission of India has launched a two-day training programme for 229 Booth Level Agents (BLA-I & BLA-II) from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, representing 11 national and state political parties. The training, conducted bilingually in English and Tamil, is being held at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar inaugurated the programme, stressing the pivotal role of BLAs in strengthening democratic processes. He highlighted that the training would empower them to carry out their duties in line with the Representation of the People Acts of 1950 and 1951, as well as relevant election rules and ECI guidelines.
