KUPWARA, June 13 -- Continuing its drive against drug menace, Police in Kupwara have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party of PS Kupwara at a checkpoint established at Gonipora Haihama, arrested a drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmed Khan son of Momin Khan resident of Gonipora Haihama Kupwara. During search, substantial quantity of Heroine-like substance was recovered from his possession. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the accused was engaged in illicit drug trafficking.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated.
