Srinagar, Dec. 27 -- National Conference President and party chief, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, on Friday paid rich tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, renowned as the architect of India's economic reforms, who passed away on December 26 at the age of 92.
Referring to Singh as a "mentor and guide," Dr. Farooq stated that Singh's "deep understanding of economics inspired the nation" and that he led India with immense wisdom and integrity.
Addressing a selected group of reporters in Srinagar, Dr. Farooq, highlighted that Manmohan Singh's tenure as Prime Minister, from 2004 to 2014, was marked by significant economic growth and the implementation of key reforms that liberalized India's economy.
