SRINAGAR, April 3 -- A Srinagar Court on Thursday convicted an individual accused of theft at Jama Masjid Nowhatta Srinagar.

"In a significant victory for justice, the Hon'ble Court of 3rd Additional Munsif/JMIC Srinagar has convicted Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Daribal Ganderbal, for the offence under Section 303(2) BNS in case FIR No. 04/2025 of Police Station Nowhatta," said a police statement.

"On January 18, 2025, when the Awkaf Jamia Committee reported the theft of cash from the donation box at Jamia Masjid Nowhatta, Srinagar Police registered the case and launched an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the accused," it added.
