Srinagar, April 12 -- China is set to open the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in June, a record-breaking engineering marvel that will cut travel time across a massive canyon from one hour to just one minute. The two-mile-long bridge, part of a £216 million (Rs 2,200 crore) project, stands over 200 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower and weighs three times more.

Dubbed a "super project" by Chinese politician Zhang Shenglin, the bridge is seen as a symbol of China's advanced engineering and a key boost for tourism in Guizhou province.
