Srinagar, April 16 -- Meteorological Department (MeT) has issued yellow and orange alerts for the two days, April 18 and 19 (Friday and Saturday), predicting light to moderate rains and snow in Jammu and Kashmir.
The forecast was issued amidst Kashmir recording the season's hottest day on Tuesday with mercury settling at 30.4 degree Celsius in Srinagar, marking 10.2 degree Celsius above than average temperature.
The other parts of Kashmir, including Qazigund (29.8 degree Celsius), Pahalgam (25.4 degree Celsius), Kupwara (29.5 degree Celsius), and Kokernag (27.5 degree Celsius) also witnessed the season's hottest day today.
