Srinagar, Oct. 23 -- The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is all set to kick off on Thursday. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha summoned the session under section 18(1) of the J&K Reorganisation Act, 2019. Three key bills will be introduced in the nine-day session. The Cabinet has already given its nod for the introduction of the Jammu Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, the Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017, and the Jammu and Kashmir Shops and Business Establishment Bill, 2025. The Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, proposes to raise the upper age limit for the State Election Commissioner (SEC) from 65 years to 70 years.
