SRINAGAR, May 28 -- Continuing its unwavering drive against the drug menace, Police have arrested 04 drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

Based on specific inputs received from the public, Police in Sopore launched a series of well-coordinated operations leading to the arrest of four drug peddlers and seizure of narcotic substances, including codeine-based syrup and brown sugar-like substances.

In the first operation, Sopore police arrested a drug peddler namely Rameez Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Adipora Sopore alongwith 13 bottles of codeine-like substance with tampered labels at Adipora Crossing.
