AWANTIPORA, May 22 -- In a swift and decisive action, Police in Awantipora have arrested two individuals who were posing as being closely connected to authorities and extorting money from the public.
The arrests came after a complaint was lodged by Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Rasool Dar, a resident of Naristan, who reported that the accused were fraudulently presenting themselves as close to the police and demanding money under false promises.
The accused have been identified as Jaliya Parveen, daughter of Mohd Amin Rather, a resident of Monghal, Anantnag, and Bilal Ahmad Rah, son of Gh Ahmad Rah, a resident of Chanapora, Srinagar.
