Srinagar, July 26 -- India has emerged as a major smartphone exporter to the US, accounting for nearly 36% of total imports between January and May 2025 - up from 11% last year - largely driven by Apple iPhone shipments. This surge has significantly reduced China's share from 82% to 49%, as per data from the US International Trade Commission.
During the same period, India exported 21.3 million smartphones to the US, a threefold year-on-year increase, with shipment value soaring 182% to $9.35 billion, already surpassing 2024's full-year figure of $7 billion.
