Pakistan, March 20 -- Government-owned Air India was hit severely by the closure of Pakistan's airspace as it had reportedly faced a loss of six billion rupees since March 16. Overwhelming losses are largely occurring because of the redirection of its flights destined for Europe and the US through Gujarat and the Arabian Sea. Flights of the national airline also have to land at Sharjah and Vienna for refuelling. Reports suggest that distance between India and Western countries has increased by four additional hours due to this suspension, causing great difficulties to the passengers as well.
